The Mabinogion

First published in English between 1838 and 1849, Lady Charlotte Guest’s translation of The Mabinogion brought a remarkable collection of medieval Welsh tales to a much wider readership.

Drawn from medieval Welsh manuscripts, these stories preserve a rich world of myth, legend, magic, kingship and otherworldly encounters, and remain among the most important surviving works of Welsh literature.
